I received both my BS and Masters degrees in architecture from Catholic University of America School of Architecture and Planning.
While attending Catholic, I studied the fundamental design principles of architecture which not only can be applied to building design, but also furniture design. Human scale and proportion become extremely important when dealing with furniture design. What I enjoy most about designing furniture is that it is a combination of conceptual design and physical craftsmanship. The end product is a usable physical object that is a functional piece that engages the senses.
