. Trained as a ceramist Mathias permitted to study in Beaux-arts for sculpture in Zürich and then design at „The Art Center College of Design“. This was the start of och design – an industrial office that is breathing life into the concept of its clients.

Hydraulic watch case
The main question in the beginning was what or how it befitting exclusive watches? What makes a watch exclusive? Its the mechanics ... The packaging tells the story of the evolution of mechanical and human intelligence.The quintessence of emotions is able to release complex mechanics.
Och design has transferred the mechanics into the packaging. Our inspiration brought us in the beginning from the mobile mechanism to the steam machine. We transferred the steam boat mechanism into the packaging. On one hand the cylinder, on the other hand the liquid (the sea) to transmit the movement.
The formal language of the outer shell represents the Bull eye protection. The concept is based on a twin-chamber system, the first chamber in the form of the outer skin, translucid with views of the entire mechanism, the inner skin in the form of a double cylinder filled with an opaque liquid. Moving the engine telegraph will empty the cylinder, the clock appears. By opening the lid manually the liquid is pumped back into the cylinder and simultaneously runs the watch out of the cylinder.
