The Kokiri table is a sculptural art form, termed "Detailic Form". The elements have been proportioned with "Phi" and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the beholder.

The shape of the legs are very unique, fluid, like energy moving from one point in space to another but in its movement it is twisted, turning and flowing around in a very controlled fashion. Legs like energy - expressing themselves like the country that they came: New Zealand!

This art work is trully unique to this world, pure design and pure inspiration!!!

Enjoy !
The ideal and inspiration came from a small “art island” off the coast of Auckland, (New Zealand) Waiheke Island. I was living there and intended on staying there for life. I decided to design something that could start me up, but something that was unique and something that stood out from the crowd and be an eye catcher. My plan's where to make a product for New Zealand that could be sold globally around the world, something so special and something so precious, no one had seen anything like it - that they had to have it! This is a design inspired and created for New Zealand, this is New Zealand’s furniture of the future.

When I returned to Holland (where I now live), the design came with me. So powerful was this design that I began straight away to develop a full collection, all inspired by the same "Detailic form" theme in the Kokiri. The actual name was given to me from a Maori who was visiting the owner of the workshop I was using. The name itself has rather legendary and spiritual links.

The Kokiri was unveiled at the Millionaires’ Fair 2011 and later advertised in Holland’s LXRY magazine along with a few other editorials. The Kokiri has seen the light of day in many galleries – it is seen more as being a work of art that a piece of furniture. At Marquess, we design and make furniture art – unique and exclusive.

We have about 14+ designs available in this collection. So far we are only producing the Kokiri for limited purchase. The full Kokiri range is still in development and is currently being sought after exclusively by a patron we met at the Fair.
